Data Policy for Access Arrangements Assessments
When a school or college contacts me to provide assessment for access arrangements, I collect a range of information on examination candidates from the school’s SENDCo or the Learning Support Manager at a college. This information is used to plan and provide the assessments for access arrangements that have been requested.
The information I collect includes:
• Name, date of birth, and candidate number.
• A profile of the candidate’s needs, which may include the results of screening tests, previous specialist assessments, support plans, school reports, and information reported by subject teachers and support staff.
• Linguistic history.
• History of learning difficulties.
• How the candidate’s difficulty currently impacts teaching and learning.
• Details of the candidate’s “normal way of working”.
• The access arrangements requested.
I collect this information electronically and securely. The information is only used for the purposes of providing access arrangements assessments and is not shared with anyone else without the express written permission of the school SENDCo or Head of Centre or Learning Support Manager of a college.
After 30 days, all information regarding test candidates is either returned to the school to be kept securely or safely destroyed. No information on a school or a school’s examination candidates is ever stored or shared by me, except by express, written direction from the school SENDCo or Head of Centre; Learning Support Manager or as required by law.
This data policy was created on 21 August 2023 and is annually reviewed on 1 September each year.
